Our mission is to help you get better at sewing and support your journey along the way! At Topstitch Makers you are not alone as you learn and grow your sewing practice. Here you will connect with fellow sewists, improve your sewing skills through monthly themes, sewalongs, live talks, sewcial sesssions, courses and you'll become part of a thriving online indie garment sewing community through this dynamic collaborative engagement.
Each month we explore a new Monthly Theme and topics related to it. Some themes have been elastic, zippers, details and wardrobe planning. We provide an inspirational illustrated mini zine on the theme as well as an exclusive tutorial from Stephanie Lenox. We also have prompts and conversation each month to help you level up in that area. Below is one example from our wardrobe planning themed month!
Our live sewing sessions are currently over Zoom so you can attend no matter where you live, if the time suits your schedule! Most will only require fabric, a pattern and basic sewing supplies. We have live sewing sessions every month and they are also now recorded for rewatching.
Our online recorded courses are great for beginners and include: Intro to Sewing - Sewing 101 -The Essential Shirt; Beginner Essentials - Hand Sewing and Seam Finishes; and Intro to Sergers. Check out a preview of our shirt course!
You can purchase these courses anytime inside the community and take them at your own pace.
To learn, share and be part of an engaging sewing community that supports your sewing journey--and to have fun on the journey together!
Take it from our members, it's a fantastic place to be!
